Professional academic papers in English of up to 20,000 words are invited for inclusion in Celtic Cultural Studies. Papers are also invited in any of the modern Celtic languages (Gaeilge, Gàidhlig, Gaelg, Cymraeg, Kernewek, Brezhoneg) or Scots, provided that the author also submits their own English translation for bilingual publication.
Papers should be written in standard Harvard format, and should be submitted to the editorial board as a MS Word compatible e-mail attachment. Within the limits of what can be or has been understood as Celtic culture(s), there are no restrictions with regard to subject matter, historical period, geographical provenance, or academic discipline.
Please note that for technical and stylistic reasons we do not accept papers with excessive numbers of footnotes or endnotes. These should not be used for referencing and should be kept to a bare minimum, if used at all.
Contributors are requested to send a short biographical statement outlining their current (and/or previous) institutional affiliation(s), although work from independent scholars is also very welcome. In addition, contributors should state whether or not their contribution has been sent to any other journals for consideration.
Editorial responses to submissions cannot be guaranteed but where a response is appropriate, the editorial board undertake to respond as promptly as possible.
